Kaytlyn has a Kitchen and Bath Remodeler certificate through The National Association of Remodelers. While attending Boston Architectural Center studying interior design she worked in commercial construction as an intern at a general contracting firm in Winchester. Through connections made during her time there, she moved on to help build and manage a residential construction company. She gained technical installation skills working in the field with tile, plumbing, millwork, masonry, decking, roofing and paint. She was also responsible for helping customers with their material selections by accompanying them to flooring, plumbing and cabinetry showrooms to specify all aspects of their design and project.
These visits helped her to realize that she would rather be working in the showrooms focusing on the material selections and conceptual designs for interior spaces. With her knowledge from being in the field of construction she moved into a design assistant role at her first kitchen and bath showroom from 2005-2008.
From 2008-2024 Kaytlyn was showroom manager at her second kitchen and bath showroom which also offered full general contracting services. She was responsible for overseeing hiring and marketing for the company. She also managed the designing, estimating, sales, and purchasing for all projects. During her 15 years there she also earned four gold CoTY awards from 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017. Additionally, under her management the company was awarded Best of Houzz awards from 2014 - 2024.
Kaytlyn is the owner and lead designer of Focal Point Design. Her designs are driven by practicality and efficiency. She enjoys incorporating different patterns, textures, color and contrast into her design materials. She has over 20 years of experience taking new construction and remodeling projects from concept to completion.
